Welcome!
The Blue Hill Select Board, in coordination with the Blue Hill Fire Company and Peninsula Ambulance Corps, is proposing to relocate the existing fire/ambulance station to a new Public Safety Building site acquired by the Town in 2025 for this purpose.
This mini-website is intended to provide the public–Blue Hill voters, residents in the nearby towns served by the Ambulance Corps (and the Fire Department on a mutual aid basis)–with information about the process of designing and extending the existing on-site facility to house the Blue Hill Fire Department, Peninsula Ambulance Corps, and provide an office for local law enforcement officers.
Recent and Upcoming Milestones
- April 2024: A committee was formed to evaluate allternatives for the possible relocation of the fire station and ambulance corps to a new public safety building. Over the next year, the committee evaluated designs and potential locations for the facility, ultimately recommending a property, with an existing building, on Tenney Hill.
- August 2025: The Town approved the purchase of the property; the transaction was completed on September 29, 2025.
- April 2026: The Town approved the issuance of debt and use of unassigned funds to provide (together with the funds used to purchase the property) approximately 50% of the estimated cost of the proposed facility. The Town also submitted an application for the remaining 50% via a $3.4 million grant “to construct a public safety building and fire station” to Senators Collins & King and Congressman Golden.
- May 2026: The Town was notified that Senator Collins recommended our grant request to the Senate Appropriations Committee for its consideration for approval.

- Next steps: Awaiting further information from the Senate Appropriations Committee–the committee will determine which congressional directed spending requests will be included in the proposed 2027 federal budget.
